Physiotherapy for Neck Pain
Posture Related Neck Pain
Prolonged desk work and working postures can cause and aggravate neck pain. This in turn can lead to less productivity and difficulty concentrating.
Identifying the site of pain and targeting it directly with both hands-on and exercise based treatments will help to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
Cervicogenic Headache
Neck pain which leads to muscle tension and joint stiffness can sometimes cause headaches known as ‘cervicogenic’ (from the cervical spine) headaches. Headaches which originate from pain in your neck can make day to day work very difficult.
By treating the point of tension and building a postural or ergonomic treatment plan, cervicogenic headaches can be reduced and eliminated.
Neck & Shoulder Pain
Pain in the back of your shoulder and neck can often be caused by tension in shoulder blade (scapular) muscles.
Trigger point release (through massage and dry needling techniques) can eliminate this tension, allowing exercise to build up scapular strength, and preventing further pain.
